Mental Health Matter Zine

Design Brief:

For this project, you are charged with the task of creating a social justice zine. Zines have historically been a big part of social justice activism and present an avenue for voices to be heard that are often not showcased in mass media. Think of them as PSAs on paper. Zines are a chance to communicate about topics that are important to you, and have the potential for distribution minus the concern for an expensive production process.

The content for your zine will be related to a social, political, or environmental issue. Any facts or claims your zine mentions must be cited from a reliable source, preferably a (dot)org, (dot)edu or (dot)gov domain if using websites. Include these sources somewhere on your zine. Zines do not have to be limited to just informational PSAs with bullet-point facts. You are encouraged to design/include comic strips and/or illustrated stories to express your concerns. Personalizing the content in this way will make it more memorable. While the subject matter may feel "heavy" and/or emotionally-charged, you are free to come up with your own narrative in expressing it. It can be more whimsical or humorous than instructional if you wish.
